The brief
Esports communities in Uganda were running competitions on messaging apps and spreadsheets. Results were hard to follow, statistics were lost, and players had no lasting profile. We built the platform we wanted to use ourselves.
What we built
- Competition pages with fixtures and progress tracking.
- Player profiles that keep a record beyond a single tournament.
- Match statistics presented so a casual fan can follow along.
- A responsive interface that works on the phones most players use.
How it works
The platform is organised around competitions. Each competition holds its fixtures and results, and each result feeds the statistics shown on player profiles. The interface is built to be read quickly on a phone between matches, rather than requiring a desktop browser.
Outcome
A single place for competitors and fans to follow a tournament, instead of reconstructing results from chat threads. It is also our own product, which means we live with the same engineering decisions we recommend to clients.
